Mulberry Ad Campaign

Bu Tim Walker'ın çektiği Mulberry 2011 Sonbahar koleksiyonu kampanyası. Bence koleksiyonun fikri çok başarılı bir şekilde görselleştirilmiş (ilham kaynağı Roald Dahl'ın Yaman Tilki kitabı). Eski bir İngiliz malikanesinde çekilen bu kampanyada, herşey tipik İngiliz (tilkiler, kuşlar, kırlar, mobilyalar, vs.) fakat aynı zamanda proporsiyonlar çok sürreal ve doğaüstü. Bence bu aynı zamanda koleksiyonunda amacı. Parçaların çoğunluğu tipik İngiliz, ama hepsinde renkli ve eğlenceli detaylar ve parçalar var; ağır paltoların altındaki ipek elbiseleri, koyu ve ağır renklerin altından çıkan parlak renkler, atkıların proporsiyonları ve boyutları... Mulberry kızı imajını tutarken ekstra bi sofistikelik katılmış. İmajların bazılarında kıyafetler etrafındaki detayların arasında kaybolmuş gibi, ama geri kalanı çok iyi dengelenmiş.

This is the ad campaign for the Mulberry 2011 Fall Collection, taken by Tim Walker. The idea of the collection is very well visualized I think, being inspride by the novel Fantastic Mr. Fox, by Roald Dahl. Its shot in an old English manor, everything is very English (fox's, birds, the countryside, furniture, etc), yet proportions are obviously unearthly and dreamlike. I think that is what the collection is about too. Most pieces are very English, yet they all have a colorful and fun twist; the silk dresses under heavy coats, the bright colors that burst through heavy colors, the sizes of the scarfs... They keep the Mulberry girl look, but they also have a sort of sophistication to them. Some of the outfits get lost in the complication of its surroundings, but others are balanced out very well.

The Givenchy 2011 Fall collection is great as a whole, but these two pieces, especially the second one should be mine!! :)

This video is really amazing. The song is dark and so good, and the production is awesome! Even though its simple, the right amount of effect and slow motion gives a feeling that really leaves an impression. Its very inspiring.

AnOther Ten Year Anniversary Special Issue Cover

Bu kapaklara bakmak çok zevkli, insanı içine çekiyor. Okadar çok detay var ki: farklı tarzlar, dokular, vs. aynı karede fakat bir bütün oluşturabiliyor. Bu tip illüstrasyon ve fotoğraf karışımlarını seviyorum, insana deney yapma olanağı tanıyor. 


These cover images are really fun to look at, it draws me in. There is so much going on, in terms of style, texture, etc., yet it is somehow unified. I love this type of mixture of illustration and photography; it is a good way to experiment. Photographs: David Sims.
